RCMP RELEASE:
On Apr. 18, 2024, Lac La Biche RCMP located a fire pit containing human remains in the area of Kikino Metis Settlement, Alta. The Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit was deployed and took carriage of the investigation.
Over the course of an extensive investigation, involving assistance from Lac La Biche RCMP, Bonnyville RCMP, Wabasca RCMP , Drumheller RCMP General Investigations Section and General Duty officers, Eastern Alberta District Crime Reduction Team, the Emergency Response Team and St. Paul RCMP Forensic Identification Services, three suspects were identified in connection to the death of Jeremy Collins, a 34-year-old resident of Kikino, Alta.
On Jan. 17, 2025, Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit arrested two of the individuals, William Curtis White, a 33-year-old resident of Wabasca, Alta., and Amber Hope, a 26-year-old resident of Kikino, they have been charged with first degree murder and indignity to human remains. Both William and Amber were taken before a Justice of the Peace and were remanded into custody. They are scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 3, 2025 at the Alberta Court of Justice in Lac La Biche.
On Jan. 22, 2025, the third suspect, Randall Louis Gadwa, a 31-year-old resident of Kehewin Cree Nation, Alta., was charged with first degree murder. Randall was brought before a Justice of the Peace and was remanded into custody. He is scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 6, 2025, at the Alberta Court of Justice in Lac La Biche.
