RCMP RELEASE:
On June 14, 2025, at approximately 3:00 a.m., the St. Paul RCMP responded to a report of a motor vehicle collision at a convenience store in the town. Police arrived to find an injured minor laying on the ground in front of the business. The driver and victim are known to each other.
Allegedly, the driver of the truck struck the victim, also crashing into the business. This pinned the victim between the vehicle and the building. The driver then fled the scene.
The victim was taken to an Edmonton hospital with serious injuries, and is recovering.
An arrest warrant was sought for the driver, and he has now been arrested.
Courage Matayhies Monias (18), a resident of Frog Lake, Alta. has been charged with:
- aggravated assault
- assault with weapon
- failure to stop after accident
- mischief over $5000 – damage to property
Courage Monias is being held in custody for a judicial release hearing.
